Cardwell Hill Cellars is a boutique winery located near the Coastal Range in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The vineyardwas originally planted in 1983. Cardwell Hill Cellars is positioned on asouth-facing slope. The vines enjoy long summer days followed by cool nights, resulting in an average temperature variation of 30˚ Fahrenheit. CardwellHill Cellars is certified sustainable. The winery practices dry-farming; they do not irrigate their vines and instead rely upon the forty inches of annual rainfall. Dan Chapel is quoted as saying, “Only the juice of the grape is removed from the vineyard-all of the stems, skins, seedsand cuttings are cultivated back into the land”.
